Sweet is a US unincorporated community located in Lavaca County in the state of Texas. Its population as at the 2000 census was 360. In 1853, Solomon West, an Alabama native, bought 2,214 acres of land in Lavaca County.

The Sweet Home school began classes in the church, but sometime before 1898 a two-story building had been erected. In 1898 the school had an enrollment of ninety-six, and in 1908, at least seventy-two.
